Corn hole...

Sounds like something Beavis and Butthead used to say. I had no idea it was actually a game that can be played. I first learned about corn hole four summers ago. I had a friend that played it in the summer time when he was a kid. He introduced a few people to the game and it started to catch on very quickly.

We would play at BBQ's and on camping trips. Now, we get together and hang out just to play corn hole. It's a great way to spend time with friends. One of the great things about the game is that anyone can play. It's fun for children, teenagers, adults, and even the elderly. You may have to break the rules and move the move the boards a little closer together for children and the elderly but they seem to love it.

The game has grown so much in my circle of friends that we are going to host a corn hole tournament this summer. I have always played on or borrowed other friends corn hole sets but this year I am looking to buy my very own first set. I am excited and can't wait to play.

First heard of "bags" as a popular south side (Chicago) bar and picnic game from a young employee in the fall of 2002. Tried it in our parking lot and loved it. Went online to get the official specifications and built 2 games for my daughter's graduation party from University of Illinois in 2003. That's how I learned of the Cornhole game term in addition to "bags". Now they are at parties, tailgates, universities, bars, everywhere.

I'm making five games for gifts right now. Popular with males and females of all ages, though I hate to get beat by a competitive female. Interesting to see some very creative boards. Buying boards from a good supplier appears to be an attractive alternative to making them yourself.

I had my wife sew our first set of bags and that was the last. They were great, but not worth the hassle. "Baggo" games seem completely different with smaller and lightercornhole bags. Cornhole is a much better game.
