On June 17, 2010 as part of the celebration of my girl friends birthday, we went to the Pirates Den for dinner in Fairview Beach, Maryland. The dining is outside on the water and the Pirates Den had two Cornhole Boardssetup. We enjoyed watching several games played as we ate and decided that this would be a great family game to have at home. So today we are purchasing the complete set from SC Cornhole Game.

I went to Birmingham, Alabama with my wife to see some friends of hers from her childhood. I had never met them before so I really didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful family they were. They were open, generous and extremely friendly, they made me feel like an old friend right away! A few hours after arriving a friend of theirs showed up and I found him to be a very nice guy as well. My wife and I went down the road to look at the old country church she grew up at and upon returning to their home the friend and a son-in-law were in the yard playing a game. I saw two ramp looking boards with a hole in them across from each other and observed the two men throwing what I thought were bean bags at them. I thought, "now the boredom is gonna set in, two grown men are playing some bean bag kiddie game!"

I asked them what they were playing and I was of coarse advised that it was called "Cornhole". I must admit that at this point, being deep in the woods outside of Birmingham, I was a bit concerned now with two grown men playing some kiddie game with an obscene sounding name! They asked me if I would like to play and after being given a short overview about the game and really not wanting to offend these gentlemen, I told them I would love to. One throw. One throw was all that it took, I WAS HOOKED!! I got my butt kicked (just kicked!) three straight times and had a blast!

These guys were really good (one was much better than the other)and I quickly was able to realize the skill and strategy involved in this game! I was very unhappy to have to leave again for a little while because I was sure that the fun would be over by the time I returned but to my surprise and relief, they were still playing when I returned. I quickly began playing against the lesser talented of the two men (he was still good!)and lost two straight games. I asked him to play the best of five because I was starting to get a technique and some strategy. I'm here to tell ya that I won the next three games, throwing one bag STRAIGHT INTO THE HOLE! and holing out 3 of 4 on one turn! It was a great weekend with great new friends and a new obsession for an awesome game with a wierd name! I came home and immediately started getting Cornhole Dimensions to make my own set of boards and have told everybody I know about this incredible and FUN game called CORNHOLE!
