Evaluating Cornhole Boards

When buying a set of Cornhole Boards, you want to keep a few things in mind. One, the boards should most definitely be made out of wood. If you take one thing from this article, recognize that you are doing yourself a disservice buy purchasing a plastic Cornhole Set. The bags will slide right off the board and you will regret that you didn't stick with the trusted wooden boards.

The second thing that you should keep in mind is that you should ALWAYS purchase from a vendor that charges an honest shipping rate. I've seen customers get a decent deal on a set of cornhole boards, but then get ripped off when it comes to the shipping. Sadly, there are a lot of stores out there that feel that its ok to profit on the shipping. While its ok to cover your shipping, packaging, and a modest handling charge, some of the stores are getting away with passing high costs onto the customer.

The third thing is that your boards should be made of 1/2" plywood, accept no replacements. You can use 3/4", but in most cases 1/2" will provide you with the right amount of bounce. I think its always safe to start with 1/2" plywood and if you feel that you want more bounce then you can start with a support underneath the center of the boards. We sell a wide array of Cornhole board products in our store below. Not only do we sell the regulation 4x2, but we also sell a tailgate toss version that folds up nicely and can be put in the car. That's perfect for football games, BBQ's, or trips to the beach. Below is a picture of some of our work, please feel free to visit the link at the bottom of the page if you want to visit our store.
