 Cornhole Tournaments

by Fritz
(Ohio)

Last summer one of our neighbors and my family were sitting out on our patio planning our next neighborhood party which was going to also include the neighbors annual family reunion. They have a huge family. One of the kids said they had started playing a game called Cornhole at a friends home. So we all talked about it and thought we would add two boards to the annual event.

When we told everyone that was going to attend that we were going to have two boards it exploded into four boards and then six boards.

We also set up two small boards just for the kids in addition to the six adult cornhole sets. We played well into the night and had a run off.

It is a great simple game for the group. Simply put great fun.

My Brother Build his Own Set

My brother woke me up from a nap because he was making something in the garage I come to find out it is some game called cornhole. he said its such a hard game but its so fun. I didnt believe him but when it was finished i decided to play with him and on my second toss I made it into the hole. I had a great time playing it and now i am building a new set for my boyfriend to learn how to play!

Cornhole Takes Over

by AJ
(Rochester, New York)

Over the last 22 years the same group of friends gather for a guys only weekend on Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. The weekend generally involves large quantities of beer, food and fun with assorted camp / party games.

Over the years we have played pass the pigs, washers, large dice craps, vollyball and horseshoes. Two years ago this game shows up having 2 boards with a hole in each and 8 bean bags. They are painted white and have our group's official logo on them. I heard it referred to as "cornhole" which seemed like a funny name. After watching several of our group (seemed to be the southern contingent) who have obviously played before, I decided to give it a try. What an absolute blast!!

We pretty much spent the rest of the weekend playing cornhole and even had a double elimination team tournament. The cornhole boards are now the centerpiece of what was already one of my favorite weekends of the year. Unfortunately there are no photos because we have a rule against cameras.

Fast forward to my family's first camping vacation of 2010 on Lake Gaston in Virginia. This was my wife's first glimpse of cornhole. We played for hours with our new friends from North Carolina. Our 8 and 6 year old daughters even got in on it with the other kids in our row. One my wife and I played with 4 other couples until 3AM.

This year she decided that we need to make our own set of boards and found your web site. I am on the job and am now in the process of aquiring the materials. I plan to buy unfilled bags from your site shortly. Our design plan for the cornhole boards will be the black and gold school colors and cougar paw logo of our school district. I will upload photos when they are complete.

Can't wait to get this one done and start playing!
