Navy DeepSea Diver Color Scheme

 

Cornhole boards - I used construction grade ply wood 3/4 inch for the platform, 1 X 1's for the legs, with 1/4 inch machine screws, and 2 X 1's for the sides. 

 

STEP 1: I glued all four sides using Gorilla Wood Glue and C-clamps. 

 

STEP 2: Secured the sides to the platform using a 1 1/2 inch deck screw. Care should be taken when drilling deck screws at this point, to prevent splitting the top ply of the platform and the side boards. 

 

STEP 3: Drilled hole in legs, and sides. Inserted 2 inch long, 1/4 inch diameter machine screw through sides and legs using 3 washers per leg, one under the head of the screw, on between the inside of the sides, and one under the nut to allow for ease of folding in and out. I secured the nut with LOCK TITE to prevent backing out. (Lock nuts would have been better but I couldn't find any that size).

 

STEP 4: Drilled the "CORNHOLE" with 6" hole saw (it was $40) I will sell it to anyone that wants one for $20 only used twice!

 

Step 5: Using plastic wood putty, I touched up the split plys mentioned in step two.

 

STEP 6: Using 80, 120, 400, and 600 grit sandpaper, graduating from 80 to 600 on each pass, I sanded the platform to a very fine bare finish.

 

Step 7: Painted the "WHOLE" platform Navy Blue, and then outlined the pyramid with painters tape and painted the Gold pyramid. I used 4=6 coats of paint.

 

Step 8: 4 coats of clear lacquer that was compatible with the type of paint I used (indoor/outdoor semi gloss Bear latex) Latex is about the same cost as oil based paints but the clean up won't get you arrested by the tree huggers.

 

That's it, the total cost was roughly around 200 bucks but they are sturdy and will last a lifetime.

 

 

 

 

Marleys HHI Cornhole

 

Thank you for the Cornhole game plans. They were pretty easy to follow. Instead of painting them like everyone else I stained the frame work a dark walnut and the platform a natural oak. I sealed them with one coat of semi-gloss poly then one coat of gloss. Under the poly I applied logo stickers from the restaurant. 

 

I built them 2 sets, and they a are hit at their outdoor Tiki Bar. They are already planning their 1st Cornhole tournament.

 

 

 

 

 

Hawk Boards - They are so fun to make! I have given several boards away as b-day gifts. My only problem is making the legs. It is such a pain! I was hoping your rspecs would help me make this part of the process easier.

HelloGguys, Just wanted to let you all know, I was really impressed with your website. Upon my first visit, I found everything very user friendly, I just checked it all out, read alot and printed the instructions to build my own boards. I was undecided as to weather I was going to purchase or buy my Cornhole Bags. It was down to the last week before my Husbands surprise birthday party "50" and he had built his own Cornhole Boards and then asked me to make him the bags. I started cutting out material and realized I wouldn't get them done before the big day, so I called my Sister in Cincinnati and asked her if she could bring her bags up to use. Then I got back on the web and decided to purchase the bags from you. Man am I glad I did. His Birthday party was on Saturday September 15, I placed my order for the bags on Tuesday September 12th and to my surprise they were on my porch on Friday September 14th. Wow you guys are fast!! Then I had to call my Sister back and tell her I got the bags so she didn't have to bring hers up. I have never had such quick delivery from anything I have purchased on line. YOU ARE THE BEST.

 

The party was a success and we enjoyed playing the game with his new Cornhole Boards he built for himself and the new bags I purchased from you and the quick delivery.
